Job summary

Red Deer Polytechnic seeks a Dean of Indigenous Initiatives to lead the institution’s Indigenous education and indigenization strategy, collaborating with Indigenous communities and internal partners to advance decolonization and Truth and Reconciliation commitments.

You will oversee Indigenous Services, develop strategic plans, and build partnerships that support Indigenous student success across programs and services at RDP.

Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred; relevant post-secondary experience considered.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and Indigenous community engagement experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and direction for Indigenous education and indigenization strategy.
• Lead Indigenous Services and coordinate CICAN commitments and Indigenous plans.
• Develop Indigenous plans, goals, actions, measures, and continuous improvement.
• Foster relationships with Indigenous communities, Elders and partners.
• Coordinate budget and staffing for Indigenous Initiatives and services.
• Represent Red Deer Polytechnic with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with OH&S, policy and collective agreements.
