Job summary

CIMA+ in Mississauga is seeking a Licensed Senior Architect to lead the Buildings Group on diverse projects, from transit to education and healthcare. The role emphasizes mentorship, design leadership, QA/QC, and strong client liaison across stages.

Candidates bring a minimum of 10 years of experience, Ontario licensure (OAA), and proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams while delivering quality projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Licensed Architect with OAA registration.
• 10+ years leading architecture projects.
• Proven QA/QC oversight of design deliverables.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the project team in preparing conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and construction documents across various projects
• Oversee and integrate multi-disciplinary inputs into the design process, working with specialists in areas such as traffic engineering, transportation safety, storm water management, geotechnical engineering, and environmental/ecology
• Assume the role of Project Manager, controlling and managing resources, budgets, and schedules for multiple projects
• Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison for clients, ensuring effective communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
• Assist in managing and guiding the architectural staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
• Prepare presentation materials and renderings for client meetings, public consultations, and design review processes
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and prepare materials for permit application packages to secure necessary approvals
• Provide contract administration and/or construction inspection services as required
• Support continuous professional development by participating in internal and external learning opportunities
• Represent the architectural team at project meetings, sharing insights and leadership across all stages of design and implementation
• Contribute to the creation of written materials, including proposals, design briefs, meeting reports, and other documentation associated with the architectural design process
• Lead design development and review processes, ensuring quality and alignment with client goals and project standards
• Mentor junior staff, fostering growth and development within the team
• Conduct QA/QC of drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements and standards
