Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in a modern enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will own features end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and drive delivery in an Agile setup, collaborating with product owners, architects, and QA to deliver high‑quality RESTful microservices and robust data access layers.

Qualifications

• Senior years of experience in backend software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing REST APIs and microservices architectures.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Own technical deliverables from requirements analysis through production deployment.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA engineers, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, technical design reviews, and solution planning sessions.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance and reliability.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and development best practices.
• Participate actively in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when required.
