Job summary

Intact is seeking a Lead Developer (Java/Angular) to own parts of our broker platform, lead squads, and design scalable systems. You will work within a mature delivery team with CI/CD and automated testing, operating in a microservice architecture deployed on OpenShift.

This hybrid role requires 2 days in the Toronto office, with strong emphasis on mentorship, production stability, and collaboration across Product, UX and Tech Leads.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software design and development experience.
• Strong SOA and microservice architecture knowledge.
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, JDBC, Hibernate; REST APIs.
• Frontend tech: JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, HTML, CSS.
• Relational DBs (Oracle 12+) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Elasticsearch).
• Eligible to work in Canada; no Canadian work permit required.

Responsibilities

• Act as Tech Lead in squad; drive features from PI planning to production.
• Design and evolve Broker Experience Ecosystem to meet customer needs.
• Own production stability and participate in production support.
• Mentor and coach developers; lead by example in Toronto office.
• Leverage AI tools (Devin, Cursor) to boost productivity.
