Job summary

Solaris Management Consultants Inc. seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Project Lead to design, implement and commission I&C systems for industrial facilities, with a focus on natural gas/oil processing. You will lead technical direction, coordinate with clients, and manage project deliverables and schedules.

The role emphasizes leadership, on-site execution, and code-compliant designs, with opportunities for mentorship and cross-project exposure across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer licensure in Canada or US preferred; EGBC eligibility considered.
• 10+ years of Automation/Instrumentation and Controls experience.
• Proficiency with PLC, DCS, RTU and/ or SCADA systems (ABB 800XA, Honeywell Experion/PKS, DeltaV, Allen-Bradley).
• Strong leadership, communication skills, and ability to travel on-site.

Responsibilities

• Lead instrumentation and controls engineering scope across projects.
• Act as primary client contact for I&C scope and align with expectations.
• Manage project deliverables, schedules, and resources.
• Develop P&IDs and implement project specifications.
• Prepare instrument data sheets and requisition quotes.
• Mentor junior staff in the department.
• Support FEED activities including cost estimates and scheduling.
