Job summary

Indian Bombay Bistro Ltd in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to lead kitchen and dining room staff. This permanent, full-time position offers 30 hours per week at 17.00 CAD per hour and is based at 7558 6th St, Burnaby, BC.

You will oversee food preparation, ensure safety standards, manage schedules, handle customer requests, and prepare reports. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of relevant experience and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English required.
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
• 1–2 years' experience in a similar food service role preferred.
• Punctual, accountable, reliable, and well-organized.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Able to supervise staff and provide performance feedback.
• Willing to work long hours and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of staff preparing and portioning food.
• Oversee tray assembly, delivery of food trolleys, and quality control.
• Create and submit reports; manage stock, repairs, sales and waste.
• Set work schedules and monitor employee performance; delegate tasks.
• Estimate and order ingredients and supplies; ensure safety and sanitation standards.
• Greet customers, handle reservations, and advise on menu choices.
• Train staff on duties, sanitation and safety procedures; respond to complaints.
• Review product quality and research new vendors; meet customer surveys to improve service.
