Job summary

Qualcomm Canada ULC is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to lead firmware architecture and development for SerDes PHY IP. You will own the firmware lifecycle from design through post-silicon validation and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust bring-up and production readiness.

The role requires strong C/C++ and Python skills, extensive embedded firmware experience, and a track record of leading firmware projects from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmware architecture and development for SerDes PHY IP.
• Own firmware lifecycle from design through post-silicon validation.
• Architect embedded C/C++ firmware for hardware calibration and DSP adaptations.
• Collaborate with ASIC/digital design, DV, software, and systems teams to define bring-up and validation requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.
