Job summary

UR-SPACE designs and builds code-compliant micro homes and garden studios across Calgary. We're looking for an experienced finish carpenter who's ready to take ownership of a build from start to finish, not just swing a hammer, but run the job.

Act as General Contractor on our micro home builds, from groundwork through to final finish, own the schedule, the budget and the site, start to finish, and complete the finish carpentry yourself: trim, millwork, cabinetry, detailing.

Qualifications

• Finish carpentry expertise and high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and lead on-site tasks.
• Experience coordinating electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and concrete trades.
• Strong problem-solving and on-site decision-making.
• Own tools and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Act as General Contractor on our micro home builds, from groundwork through to final finish.
• Own the schedule, the budget and the site, start to finish.
• Complete the finish carpentry yourself: trim, millwork, cabinetry, detailing.
• Source and manage the trades: electricians, plumbers, HVAC, concrete.
• Coordinate suppliers, deliveries and inspections.
• Keep the site safe, clean and organized.
• Report progress to the project lead and flag issues before they become problems.
