Job summary

UR-SPACE designs and builds code-compliant micro homes and garden studios across Calgary. We're looking for an experienced finish carpenter who's ready to take ownership of a build from start to finish, not just swing a hammer, but run the job.

Act as General Contractor on our micro home builds, from groundwork through to final finish, own the schedule, the budget and the site, start to finish, and complete the finish carpentry yourself: trim, millwork, cabinetry, detailing.

Qualifications

• Finish carpentry expertise and high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and lead on-site tasks.
• Experience coordinating electricians, plumbers, HVAC, and concrete trades.
• Strong problem-solving and on-site decision-making.
• Own tools and a valid driver’s license.

What you bring

• 5+ years as a finish carpenter, with proven quality of work


• Comfortable working independently, and equally comfortable directing others


• Experience delegating and coordinating subtrades: you know who to call and how to hold them to standard


• Self-sufficient: able to solve problems on site without waiting to be told


• Own tools and a valid driver's licence


• Red Seal certification an asset but not required
