Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Distribution Engineer to design distribution infrastructure up to 35kV and support projects across Western Canada. You will contribute to design packages, perform analyses, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient utility solutions.

Based in Vancouver with hybrid work options, you will engage with clients, provide guidance to junior engineers, and help advance energy transition projects across the region.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in an engineering role with Distribution knowledge
• P.Eng designation or eligible to become a P.Eng (EGBC)
• Experience with utilities in Western Canada
• Strong communication and ability to present to diverse audiences
• Familiarity with GIS, CAD and drawing standards
• Proficiency with SPIDAcalc and PLS-CAD
• Willingness for occasional travel within Western Canada

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of distribution team from service requests to project delivery
• Develop design work packages with scope, schedule and effort estimates
• Resolve design/field engineering problems through independent analysis and judgment
• Deliver customer service by communicating with stakeholders and defining scope
• Provide specialized expertise in Distribution and mentor junior team members
• Innovate to improve work processes and standards
• Design overhead/underground facilities up to 35kV in electric utility environments
• Attend site visits for data collection, troubleshooting and quality assurance
