Job summary

Benevity is seeking a Senior Staff Data Platform Engineer to lead the design and delivery of our data platform. You will partner with architects and domain teams to enable end-to-end data products, governance, and AI-assisted tooling across streaming and batch pipelines on an AWS lakehouse.

You will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and shape the strategic data roadmap, ensuring secure, scalable, and reusable data solutions that empower reporting and analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of scalable development experience
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Experience with cloud-native AWS infrastructure
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of medallion architecture on an AWS lakehouse
• Build platform capabilities enabling domain teams to move data from source to reporting
• Oversee streaming and batch pipelines, lakehouse, and semantic layer
• Define data contracts, governance, and metadata to ensure trustworthiness
• Mentor developers and contribute to architectural reviews
