Job summary

Northland Power is seeking a seasoned Data Architect / Data Engineer to own and evolve our Azure-based data platform. You will design scalable data warehouse and lakehouse solutions, model enterprise data, and deliver trusted data marts to empower self-service analytics and Power BI reporting.

In this role you’ll partner with IT, analytics, and AI teams to govern data, ensure security, performance, and cost efficiency, and mentor colleagues on data engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years designing and delivering enterprise data platforms, with 5+ years on Azure data technologies.
• Proven experience building data warehouses, lakehouses, and BI environments.
• Strong SQL, Python, and data governance, security, and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise data architecture strategy, roadmap, and standards.
• Design, build, and maintain Azure-based data warehouse, lakehouse, and data platform solutions.
• Develop data models and semantic layers supporting reporting, analytics, and AI.
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines across ERP, HRIS, Finance, CRM, and more.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and master data management.
• Deliver trusted data marts and datasets for self-service analytics and Power BI.
• Establish metadata, lineage, security, and compliance within data governance.
• Administer Azure data services for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentor teams on data engineering best practices and cross-functional collaboration.
