Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a capable kitchen professional to prepare meals in line with corporate standards across a fast-paced environment. You will ensure quality service, proper portioning and safe handling of food while maintaining high cleanliness levels.

The role requires proven cooking experience, a valid Food Handler Certificate and a recognized cooking school certificate, with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook roles.
• Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent is required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school is required.
• Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals or portion for delivery, ensuring temperature, presentation and taste.
• Follow ticket procedures and maintain records for the area.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of food and supplies.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as directed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting.
• Assist in ordering and receiving of food and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor promptly.
