Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a cook to prepare and cook food in a high-volume environment. The role includes mise en place, labeling, dating and rotation of products, and adherence to health and safety policies.

The successful candidate will have proven cooking experience, a Food Safety Certification, and a certificate from a recognized cooking school. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience including restaurant or prep cook work.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products.
• Communicate effectively with other departments.
• Report maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
