Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering or construction management.
• Minimum 5+ years progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring.
• Knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, problem solving, and timelines.
• Familiarity with PM software Jonas Premier, PlanGrid, Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of construction law and building codes.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems related to construction, sequencing and staffing.
• 1-year estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand and employ engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment and quality control.
• Build and maintain relationships with the project team, trade contractors, architects, consultants and clients.
• Coordinate total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
• Project planning and execution.
• Conduct site tours, safety inspections and leading by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to.
• Ensure comprehensive project close-out.
• Manage project meetings.
• Mentor, coach, supervise and assess performance of direct reports and team members.
• Assist in securing new work by participating in estimates, working with sub-contractors and participate in proposals and presentation.
• Lead negotiation of claims and disputes with the owner and sub-trades.
