City of Toronto’s Engineering & Construction Services seeks a Civil Engineering Technologist to lead design and coordination of municipal projects, mainly roads, sewers and watermains. You’ll act as a team lead and lead designer on capital works and ensure designs meet City standards.

You will use Bentley Inroads and MicroStation, mentor junior staff, prepare feasibility designs and assist in tendering, with a 35-hour workweek and a 12-month posting.

Qualificações

• Graduate in Civil Engineering Technology or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive experience in the engineering design related to municipal infrastructure (roads, sewers, watermains).
• Extensive experience utilizing Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Bentley/INROADS and MS Office.
• Experience in coordination, monitoring and tracking the status of Designs.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews designs for completeness, accuracy and conformity to standards.
• Coordinates and tracks data for the Capital Works Program and special projects.
• Prepares plans, drawings and supporting documents (DTM, alignments, profiles).
• Assists in planning, tendering, construction and inspections of municipal infrastructure.
• Performs detailed CADD design using MicroStation and INROADS.
• Mentors and directs junior design staff and leads projects.
• Prepares reports and feasibility studies for internal stakeholders.
• Responds to inquiries from the public, consultants and utility companies.
