Qualifications

• University degree or technical diploma in Geomatics or related field.
• Professional registration or eligibility in one of Alberta’s Professional Regulatory Organizations is asset.
• Minimum experience of 10 years in surveying or geomatics.
• Valid driver's license (Class 5) with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Geomatics Team and geomatics projects.
• Oversee and conduct surveys for civil construction projects.
• Manage project deliverables and relationships with peers, management and clients.
• Initiate, develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
• Assist the Operation Manager with scheduling and management of projects.
• Lead field survey crews on construction, restoration, and topographic projects.
• Complete RTK/GNSS, robotic total station, survey level, and control surveys.
• Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control.
• Prepare field notes, sketches, photos, and survey records.
• Coordinate with project managers, environmental staff, and drafting/data processing staff.
• Mentor junior field staff and develop survey procedures and data collection standards.
• Assist with drone-based LiDAR data collection and ground control setup.
• Coordinate utility locate requests and review utility records.
