Job summary

LN Land Development Technologies in Edmonton, AB is seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor for a full-time, permanent role. You will handle day-to-day field surveying, including layout, earthworks, topographic and quantity surveys, and maintaining survey control on civil and industrial projects.

Ideal candidates have strong hands-on field experience, proficiency with GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations, and the ability to read construction drawings.

LN Land Development Technologies is growing our Edmonton survey team, and we're looking for an experienced Construction Surveyor who is ready to take ownership in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You'll take responsibility for day-to-day field surveying activities, including:

• Construction layout and staking
• Earthworks and grading
• Topographic surveys
• Quantity surveys
• Establishing and maintaining survey control
• Operating GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations
• Reading and interpreting construction drawings and plans
• Completing survey calculations and collecting accurate field data
• Identifying field discrepancies before they become construction issues
• Coordinating with project managers, supervisors, clients, and field crews
• Supporting and mentoring Survey Assistants when required

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're less concerned about checking every box and more interested in finding someone with strong, hands-on field experience who can confidently run survey work.

You'll be a strong fit if you have:

• Previous experience as a Construction Surveyor, Field Surveyor, or similar
• Strong construction layout and field surveying experience
• Experience with civil construction, earthworks, or industrial projects
• Confidence operating GPS/GNSS and robotic total stations
• Ability to read construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• A solid understanding of survey control, calculations, and tolerances
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field
• A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• Trimble experience is a definite asset.
• Experience with Civil 3D, industrial projects, oil and gas, mining, heavy civil, or mentoring junior survey staff is also considered an asset.

This is a hands-on field position working outdoors in active construction environments. Some travel to project sites may be required.

Candidates must be able to meet applicable project and site-access requirements, including pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
