Job summary

My House Design Build Team Ltd. is seeking a Lead Carpenter to support the Construction Manager and keep projects moving forward across the Lower Mainland.

This full-time role offers a path to leadership and expects a highly skilled tradesperson with attention to detail. Applicants should have 10+ years in residential renovation or new construction, a Red Seal Carpentry Ticket (or ability to challenge), own PPE and tools, a valid BC driver’s license, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Residential Renovation or New Construction experience required.
• Red Seal Carpentry Ticket (Or able to challenge).
• Own PPE and personal tools.
• Have your own vehicle to get to and from jobsites all over the lower mainland, and hold a valid BC Driver’s License.
• Clear communication in English and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow site safety rules.
• Complete carpentry tasks including forming, framing, finishing, door and window install, and cleanup.
• Understand how other trades work together in a 'house as a system' and read site drawings.

Summary

The primary responsibility for the Lead Carpenter is to support the Construction Manager as requested to keep the project moving forward.

Health & Minimum requirements

• Healthy & physically fit
• Own PPE and personal tools
• Have your own vehicle to get to and from jobsites all over the lower mainland, and hold a valid BC Driver’s License
• Clear communication in the English language and able to follow instructions
• Minimum 10 years of Residential Renovation or New Construction experience required
• Red Seal Carpentry Ticket (Or able to challenge)

General Responsibilities

1. Follow site safety rules.
2. Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and safely: forming, framing, finishing, door and window install, clean up, and other various carpentry tasks
3. Electrical/painting/plumbing/drywall are all subcontracted out but – you need to have a general understanding of these other trades; and how they work together in \"house as a system\"
4. Read site drawings
