Job summary

Whistler Personnel Solutions is hiring a Lead Carpenter and/or Experienced Carpenter for a busy Whistler-based company handling renovations, commercial and residential builds, and envelope remediation. Flexible schedule with potential for remote work; competitive wages and growth opportunities.

The role offers Lead Carpenter wages CAD 45–55 per hour and Experienced Carpenter CAD 40–45 per hour, plus perks such as company trucks, golf access, training, and advancement.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of carpentry experience preferred.
• Red Seal certification is beneficial but not required.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on carpentry on the job site and direct junior workers to keep projects on target.
• Site work includes renovations, framing, forming rough-ins and multi-dwelling units in Whistler.
• Opportunities for remote work are available.
• Act as the main liaison between the Site crew and Site Supervisor to align goals.

The Perfect Candidate:

• 3-5 years experience is preferred – more experience translates to high wages.
• Red Seal Certification in Carpentry is very beneficial but not required.
• Situational Leadership skills are an asset.
• Tactical problem solving and strong communication skills are key for a Lead Carpenter position.

Responsibilities Include:

• Hands‑on carpentry on the job site plus assist and direct junior workers and ensure project stays on target.
• Job sites include lots of renovations, framing, forming rough‑ins, multi‑dwelling‑unit projects in Whistler primarily.
• Opportunities for remote work are available.
• Act as a primary point of contact between the Site crew and the Site Supervisor to ensure goals are aligned.
• Reinforce strict safety protocols on‑site, ensuring the crew operates tools and equipment correctly and maintains a clean workspace.
• Interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications, converting them into clear, actionable instructions for the team.
• Address and troubleshoot immediate site challenges or discrepancies in the field, escalating major issues to the Supervisor with proposed solutions.
