Qualifications

  • 4+ years of residential renovation experience.
  • Strong framing, drywall, mudding, finishing, and general carpentry skills.
  • Experience managing smaller renovation projects independently.
  • Comfortable coordinating subcontractors and multiple trades.
  • Professional, organized, dependable, and calm under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to plan ahead.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable transportation.

About Us

Meiju Design + Build is a growing residential renovation company specializing in high-quality design-build projects throughout the Ottawa area. We focus on custom basements, kitchens, full interior renovations, and property service contracts.

We are building a strong core team and are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and has the potential to lead projects independently as our company continues to grow.

Initial Contract

This position begins with a 2-month contract .

Successful candidates who demonstrate strong workmanship, reliability, leadership, and a good fit with our team will be considered for a permanent full-time position with long‑term growth opportunities.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Lead and execute residential renovation projects on-site
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and layouts
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship and organized, clean job sites

What We're Looking For

Compensation & Benefits
  • $30–$35 per hour, based on experience and skill level
  • Full-time schedule (hours based on project needs during the initial contract)
  • Opportunity to transition to a permanent full-time position after the 2-month contract
