Job summary

A leading Canadian infrastructure company is seeking a Paver Operator for the Calgary location for the 2026 season. This role involves operating pavers and related equipment efficiently and safely. Key qualifications include at least 2 years of experience in operating a paver, strong communication skills, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work overtime and shifts. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $36 to $42 per hour along with health and dental coverage, a pension plan, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating a Paver.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors and co-workers in a courteous, professional manner.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license or better.
• Own vehicle to get to and from job site.
• Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, weekends, as required.
• Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing.

Responsibilities

• Operate the paver and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure the asphalt mix is placed to the correct grade and thickness.
• Maintain correct speed and move the paver in a straight line.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety inspections.
• Preheat the paving screed before asphalt placement.
• Monitor and control asphalt mixture temperatures.
• Coordinate with trucks delivering asphalt to the paver.
