Job summary

RBC is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design, develop, and implement AI-driven solutions within the software development lifecycle. You will lead enterprise-scale AI integration initiatives, define best practices, and elevate the technical maturity of our engineering organization.

You will collaborate across teams to implement AI-powered automation, LLM-driven workflows, and governance frameworks, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable systems in a 37.5-hour work week at our Toronto location.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of production software experience
• 2–4 years with LLMs in production
• Proficiency in .NET/C#, Java, Python, SQL, Git, and CI/CD
• Design patterns, SOA, Azure services
• API architecture (REST/SOAP) and agentic AI patterns
• LLM API integration and RAG systems
• Cloud and containerization knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Evaluate enterprise software and AI platforms for adoption
• Lead AI product reviews, pilots, and technology adoption
• Analyze business requirements for large-scale projects
• Create robust technical designs from complex requirements
• Drive AI-driven practices across teams
• Lead design and development of MCP servers and tools
• Develop AI workflows, monitoring, and governance
• Support AI SDLC and governance initiatives
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and compliance teams
