Job summary

SandboxAQ in Canada is seeking a hands-on Manager, AI Engineering to lead a small, highly technical team. You’ll stay deeply involved in engineering and research, set technical direction, break down ambiguous problems, and ship production‑ready features that advance agentic collaboration and trust.

You’ll mentor engineers, work with Product and Research, and deliver end‑to‑end ownership of impactful AI software in a fast‑moving startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in CS or related field with exposure to AI/ML.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively with end-to-end ownership.
• Strong programming skills in Python and relevant ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a small, highly technical team while remaining deeply involved in hands-on engineering and research.
• Set technical direction, break down ambiguous problems, establish practical plans for fast, high-quality execution, and build a culture of ownership.
• Create new agentic capabilities, including frameworks for monitoring and evaluating agents, while staying current on developments.
