Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement in quality and safety is inherent in this role.

Under supervision of the Manager or designate, performs a variety of heavy cleaning duties, such as wet mopping, waxing, polishing floors, washing walls, windows, and ceilings. Collects and disposes of waste materials, handles soiled laundry, and performs laundry duties using non-domestic washers and dryers as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training, And Experience

Grade 10 plus one year recent related experience in a commercial or industrial laundry, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
