WHAT'S THE JOB?

With over 25 years of experience in the remote camp industry, Horizon North is a leader in remote camp catering. As a Housekeeper, reporting to the Lead Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, or Lodge Manager, you will ensure the overall cleanliness of our facilities to the highest standards. This is a rotational position working 14 days on/14 days off at a remote camp site.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Conducting walk-downs and cleaning approximately 50 rooms per day, depending on occupancy.
2. Providing full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways.
3. Making beds daily and changing linens weekly or as needed.
4. Vacuuming and dusting all furniture, blinds, and surfaces.
5. Washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing bathrooms, windows, and mirrors.
6. Emptying garbage from all sleeping areas, including trash and recycling.
7. Washing and folding towels, linens, and beddings.
8. Loading and unloading laundry and linen supplies.
9. Maintaining accurate records of bedding and assisting with inventory management, reporting shortages to the Lodge Manager.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Some housekeeping and/or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
• Experience in a remote lodge, hotel, or institutional setting; commercial cleaning experience is an asset.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.

Physical Demands:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Climb ladders and stairs.
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel, or sit for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive hand tasks with full use of both hands.
• Work with arms above shoulder height.
