Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA in Calgary is seeking a Laundry Attendant to perform laundry services, including cleaning and distributing linens to clients.

You will sort, wash and dry linens, fold, count and stack them, collect soiled linens, and move supplies between storage areas. You must operate laundry equipment and maintain a clean, sanitary work area, working well in a team or alone.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or laundry is an asset.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
• Physically able to perform duties and operate laundry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform laundry services including cleaning and distributing linens to clients.
• Sort, wash and dry linens following approved laundry procedures.
• Fold, count and stack linens following approved laundry procedures.
• Collect soiled linens along with redistributing clean linens.
• Transport supplies to include clean and soiled linen to the appropriate storage and collection areas.
• Routinely inspect linens for wear and tear, identifying worn and torn linens and following SOP for damaged linens.
• Maintain the commercial and residential laundry rooms in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.

Job description

You will be responsible for performing laundry services including cleaning and distributing linens to clients.

• Properly sort, wash and dry linens following the approved laundry procedures
• Fold, count, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
• Collect soiled linens along with redistributing clean linens
• Transport supplies to include clean and soiled linen to the appropriate storage and collection areas
• Routinely inspect linens for wear and tear, identifying worn and torn linens and following Standard Operating Procedure for damaged linens
• Maintain the commercial and residential laundry rooms in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition

• Experience in housekeeping and/or laundry or equivalent combination of training and experience is an asset
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Able to operate laundry equipment such as washing machines, dryers, linen press, and clothing labeler
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Physically able to carry out duties of the position
