Peter Hughes Landscape in Calgary is seeking a full-time Landscape Estimator to join our team. If you are detail-oriented and enjoy the technical side of project planning, this is the role for you.

You will estimate jobs, map plans, and use specialized software to prepare bids that meet GP targets. On-site visits and cost evaluations are required to ensure accurate pricing.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in sales or estimating (landscape or construction industry preferred).
• Proficiency with Stack, Aspire, and Google Suite.
• Ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs and evaluate labor/material costs.
• Ready to conduct onsite visits and re-evaluate processes to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Estimate jobs and prepare bids to achieve GP targets.
• Map projects and use various software for cost estimation.
• Manage tendering, review subcontractor bids, and ensure pricing is complete before submission.
• Gather information from onsite visits and other sources to inform estimates.
• Qualify new suppliers and assist in improving internal systems.

What You Bring to the Table

• 1–2 years in sales or estimating (landscape or construction industry preferred)

About the Opportunity

You will be responsible for ensuring our projects are bid accurately and prepared for success. This work includes, but is not limited to, estimating jobs, mapping, using various software, and preparing jobs accurately to achieve GP targets.

• Use specialized software to prepare detailed estimates and monitor cost-reporting systems
• Manage the tendering process, review subcontractor bids, and ensure all pricing is complete before submission
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources, including onsite visits when necessary
• Qualify new suppliers, research industry innovations, and assist in creating better internal systems
