M. Davis Landscape & Design Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a full-time Landscape Construction Labourer to join our growing team.

Working under the supervision of the foreman, you will assist with installing landscape projects and help maintain quality and safety on every job site. The role requires reliability, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a positive team attitude. Candidates should have valid license and transportation, and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and care for equipment and tools.

Working under our landscape construction superintendent and foreman your requirements and responsibilities will include:

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape construction is an asset.
• Installing hard or soft landscaping is an asset.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels.
• Must be ale to work with deadlines while maintaining good attention to detail.
• Must have valid license and own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is completed to Canadian Landscape Standards.
• Responsible for assisting the foreman in the daily completion and quality of all activities.
• Work closely with the Supervisors, Foreman, Crew Leaders and Equipment Operators while installing various types of landscape construction projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and care for company equipment and tools as needed.
• Required to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, exposure to tools and machines used in the construction industries and proximity to electrical energy and utilities.
• Perform on a consistent basis, including lifting and / or moving up to 50 lbs.
• Work independently or as part of a team and take direction if required.
• Understand and meet production or project schedule deadlines.
• Attend training classes and seminars as requested by management.
• Maintain awareness of personal and team safety at all times.
• Understand the hazards associated with tasks and controls in place.
• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Participate in the Pre-job Safety Assessment (PSA) daily, weekly toolbox talks, and site inspection.
• Report all incidents, defects, unsafe conditions, and unidentified hazards to your supervisor or foreman.
• Do not remove or interfere with any safeguards.
• WHMIS, 4 Step Health & Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence & Harassment for Workers, First Aid, Working at Heights, and AODA is an asset.
• Adhere to all OHSA regulations, M. Davis Landscape & Design Inc. Health and Safety policies and procedures, and comply with site specific rules.

Renumeration is based on qualifications and experience.
