Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Labourer II to support the Muttart Conservatory team. You will work under the guidance of a Facility Grower, performing seasonal horticultural tasks, maintaining greenhouse cleanliness and operating production equipment.

Qualifications include Grade 10 and at least 1 year of plant health experience; ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and strong customer service. Valid Alberta driver’s license is required for some duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience maintaining plant health.
• Knowledge of greenhouse principles and plant care.

Responsibilities

• Perform seasonal tasks: transplanting, planting, stocking, seeding, watering, soil mixing.
• Fill flats and pots with soil; maintain clean work stations and greenhouses.
• Operate equipment as required (seeder machine, bale buster, pallet jack, transplant machine).
• Assist with district plant pickups and show changes with Grower team.
• Fulfill online plant sale orders in collaboration with the team.

Job Number: 56102The Muttart Conservatory preserves and grows one of Canada's largest botanical collections and shares knowledge and enthusiasm for nature year round with its visitors. They are also responsible for growing the annual flowers for the City of Edmonton.
