Job summary

Sureway Construction Group is seeking a Labourer in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This full-time, seasonal role involves 10+ hour days with overtime after 8 hours daily or 44 hours weekly. Perks include benefits and RRSP/TFSA matching.

A personal vehicle and CSA-approved boots are required, with site orientations and drug testing as part of pre-employment. Responsibilities include site preparation, debris removal, material handling, and basic trenching work, while upholding the company safety program

Overview

Labourer – Fort McMurray

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal

Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Fort McMurray and Surrounding Area’s - no direct access to public transportation

Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions

**Options for living accommodations and daily allowances are available and will be provided**

Requirements:

• Personal Reliable Vehicle
• CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Pre-employment:

• Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
• Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Labourer Responsibilities:

• Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches.
• Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use.
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks manually and at times may be asked to use equipment.

• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Labourer Requirements:

• Skid Steer experience is considered an asset
