Job description

Title: Laborer

Reports To: Branch Manager and/or Field Supervisor

Department: Surface Equipment

Subordinates: No

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Major Responsibilities

1. Assist with loading and unloading materials and transporting them to work areas on site.
2. Perform specialized tasks as needed, which may require on-the-job training.
3. Carry out various physical duties as assigned.
4. Help with the setup and takedown of tank farms.
5. Perform other duties as required.

Specific Accountabilities

1. Travel as necessary to service equipment and meet customer needs.
2. Coordinate with Strad employees, including Dispatch, Billing Administrators, other Field Service Technicians, Supervisors, and Management, to ensure smooth operations.
3. Complete field paperwork as directed by the Field Supervisor.
4. Update computer databases as required by the Field Supervisor.
5. Follow Company Policies, Procedures, and Safety Standards, including the Safety Manual.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Qualifications

1. Previous oilfield experience is preferred.
2. Experience with setup, repair, and maintenance of oilfield equipment is an asset.
3. Strong desire to provide excellent customer service.
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to relate well with customers and coworkers.
5. Clean driver’s abstract.
6. Completion of safety courses and holding relevant tickets (WHMIS, First Aid, H2S) are required.
7. Ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements

1. Must be free of drugs and alcohol.
2. Ability to perform strenuous activities such as walking, bending, crouching, and standing for long periods; capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.
3. Maintain mental alertness at all times.
4. Ability to drive safely for extended periods under varying weather conditions.
5. Work outdoors in wet and extremely cold weather conditions.
