Job summary

Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist I to join the Microbiology unit. You will perform daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples as part of a collaborative lab team.

The role offers hospital-based work with flexible shifts, temporary PT/Benefits, and opportunities for professional development within Alberta Health Services’ provincial system.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
• Strong communication and multi-tasking skills are required.
• Previous experience in Microbiology is preferred.

In this role, you help clinicians and patients get the information they need to get a correct diagnosis, and restore, maintain, or optimize health. You’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of routine and specialized tests, including daily processing, testing, resulting, and reporting of diagnostic samples.
