ABOUT THE ROLE

The laboratory technician’s goal is to certify the final quality of Asphalt products and ensure high customer satisfaction. The technician will assist the lab supervisor in developing asphalt binder grades for Western Canada, working in an AASHTO-certified laboratory.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Test and evaluate asphalt products (BBR, PAV, RTFO, DSR, pen, viscosity)
• Maintain MSDS compliance and emergency response readiness
• Assist in product development and lab calibration
• Participate in AASHTO/AMRL testing rounds
• Ensure quality standards are met
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment
• Update and maintain equipment records
• Identify hazards and suggest controls
• Promote safety and environmental policies in the workplace

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Diploma in Chemical Technology or related field

Experience: Lab environment experience; AASHTO Technician Certification

Skills: QC Software, MS Office, asphalt binder testing knowledge, equipment handling, troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, time management, flexibility, reliable transportation

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
