Job Description

The Quality department is seeking an intern who is looking to develop their career while contributing to the growth of an innovative company. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, developing their skills through diverse and challenging projects. Your Contribution

Upon arrival, you will support the Quality team in EAB, reporting to the Laboratory Manager. This role offers a chance to collaborate closely with the team and work on Enerkem’s unique technology.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide logistical and technical support for laboratory activities, including maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of lab equipment.
  2. Train new Lab Technicians on policies, safety, analytical testing methods, QA/QC procedures, and corrective actions.
  3. Ensure all analysis, data, and procedures meet quality standards and are properly documented.
  4. Promote safety practices and communicate safety protocols to lab personnel.
  5. Coordinate shipping and tracking of samples for external testing.
  6. Maintain communication with lab staff and track external lab results.
  7. Analyze samples using complex equipment, update testing requests, and maintain records.
  8. Record data, certificates of analysis, and external lab results.
  9. Support the plant wastewater laboratory with inventory management, maintenance, and calibration of equipment.
  10. Manage inventory, orders, and record laboratory purchases.
  11. Report non-conformities and issues encountered during lab analysis to the supervisor.
  12. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, quality, and safety standards.
  13. Follow safety, environmental, quality, and operational procedures diligently.
Qualifications
  1. Must be a student eligible for a Co-op Program.
  2. 2nd or 3rd year student in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
  3. Available for an 8 or 16-month Co-op term starting January 2024.
  4. Enjoy solving problems and proposing creative solutions.
  5. Experience in heavy industry (preferably petrochemical) is an asset.
  6. Team-oriented with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  7. Capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  8. Possess critical thinking skills.
  9. Be rigorous, autonomous, and responsible.
  10. Strong understanding of Chemistry fundamentals.
  11. Driver’s license and mobility are assets.
  12. This position follows a 7-on, 7-off rotating schedule, including night shifts.
