The Hanna health care team more than just believe in the AHS values, they live them every day, while providing excellent health care to the rural community.This position is responsible for providing high-quality direct patient care while performing manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic Imaging exams, cardiology procedures and related duties following established standards and practice defined by the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT) accreditation standards and legal standards. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position is required to work all shifts and provide on-call coverage when assigned with a 30 minute response time to the site.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Minimum 2 yrs experience in a healthcare setting. Familiar with Clinitek Status. Experience with Muse and Cardioday. Recent experience with Epic Beaker. Current registration with CSMLS. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Good organizational skills, ability to assume responsibility, good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote teamwork. Urinalysis training macro and micro u/a experience.
