The team at Leduc Patient Service Centre (PSC), is looking to add a highly engaged, enthusiastic, and outgoing Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in this fast-paced, public-facing location. Here you will have the opportunity to work both independently and as a member of our team where you will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions, including phlebotomy, ECG’s and monitoring wait times to ensure you are providing the best service to your patients. In this role you will be the first contact that patients have with the laboratory. This environment allows you the ability to adapt and work effectively under pressure, utilize time management skills, and prioritize tasks within this ever-changing environment. Your organization and communication skills will help you collaborate and maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and other health care professionals. This position rotates between Monday to Friday from 0700-1830 and every third Saturday from 0700-1515 at Leduc PSC. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification.
At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. ECG experience.
