Job summary

Bassano Health Centre in Bassano, Alberta seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to join the interdisciplinary team. You will provide patient-focused service in the clinical laboratory, handling procurement, processing, dispatching, testing of specimens, and performing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
• Responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, and performing procedures and reporting results.
• Perform ECGs as part of routine laboratory duties.

Bassano Laboratory & X-Ray is located in the Bassano Health Centre and serves the town as well as its surrounding area. Bassano is located 35 minutes from Brooks, Alberta. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will be a member of the interdisciplinary team where you are responsible for providing exemplary patient care by applying regional policies, procedures and work practices within the laboratory department. You will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, and performing ECGs. With a customer service focused approach, you build productive and respectful customer relations and take responsibility for customer satisfaction. You have an ability to encourage others, building positive, respectful and collaborative working relationships.

Required Qualifications:
