Job summary

SEIU Healthcare in Ontario seeks a Union Representative to advance member engagement, bargain collectively, and enforce contracts across assigned workplaces in the Richmond Hill area. You will coach leaders, resolve grievances, and coordinate meetings with employers and members.

The role is full-time at our Mural office in Richmond Hill; travel and evening/weekend work may be required to support actions and mobilization programs for social justice and worker empowerment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years labour relations experience.
• Experience negotiating first and renewal collective agreements and administer those agreements through their life cycle.
• Experience handling and processing grievances through referral to arbitration.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute member-driven unit events and campaigns to resolve unit issues.
• Coach stewards to lead meetings and address unit issues.
• Lead collective bargaining for assigned units with Research Department support.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers, members, and internal departments.
• Coordinate General Membership Meetings, Steward Meetings, Labour Management Meetings, Site Visits and Departmental Meetings.
• Manage and coordinate grievance processes toward early resolution in line with agreements.
