Job summary

OSI Systems, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician for the PFC Flexible Circuits Limited division. The role involves testing chemical samples, preparing reagents, calibrating instruments, and supporting QA, engineering and maintenance. Afternoon shift 3:00pm–11:30pm with a $0.75/hour differential.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year in a lab, and ability to handle lab waste; PCB manufacturing knowledge is a plus. English communication required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree may substitute.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience; routine sample analysis preferred.
• Ability to handle lab waste/chemicals per company procedures.
• PCB manufacturing knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of AAS, UV-Vis, XRF and titration procedures is advantageous.
• Strong problem solving and teamwork; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Test chemical samples (incoming, in-process, spent, wastewater) for internal/external use.
• Prepare lab reagents for analytical instrumental testing.
• Collaborate with QA, Engineering & Maintenance to report results.
• Follow SOPs and document activities and results concisely.
• Label and dispose containers per TDG requirements for spent solutions/sludge.
• Calibrate and maintain chemical instruments and tools.
• Inspect and maintain the wastewater system.

PFC Flexible Circuits Limited, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a Lab Technician who will be responsible for following methodologies, performing routine analysis, monitoring process lines & wastewater treatment system, and performing required maintenance on equipment.

This individual will support afternoon shift operations (3:00pm to 11:30pm).

***This position offers a $0.75 per hour shift differential for second shift hours of operation (3:00pm to 11:30pm).***

Responsibilities

• Testing all chemical incoming, in-process, spent process & waste water samples for internal/external use.
• Prepare lab re-agents for analytical instrumental testing.
• Partner with the Quality Assurance, Engineering & Maintenance Departments to provide chemical results of sample testing.
• Follow appropriate methodologies and SOP's as required.
• Document activities and report results in a concise and accurate manner.
• Label and characterize containers as per the Transportation of Dangerous Goods for proper disposal of spent solutions and sludge.
• Calibrate and maintain chemical instruments and tools.
• Inspect, replenish, analyze and maintain the wastewater system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience may be substituted for a degree.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting. Experience in routine sample analysis desired.
• Must be able to work with, and properly handle, lab waste/chemicals as per Company procedures.
• Printed circuit board manufacturing knowledge is an asset.
• Knowledge of Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, CVS, UV-Vis, XRF, and titration procedures is a plus.
• Must demonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solving and team building.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the business language (English).

Pay may range from $21.00 to $21.00 hourly
