Job summary

OSI Systems, Inc. is seeking a Lab Technician for the OSI Electronics division's PFC Flexible Circuits Limited site in Toronto, Ontario. The role focuses on testing chemical samples, preparing reagents, and supporting QA, Engineering, and Maintenance with analytical results.

This afternoon shift (3:00pm–11:30pm) offers a $0.75/hour shift differential. Candidate should have at least 1 year in a lab, be able to handle lab waste, and communicate in English. PCB knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; experience may substitute for a degree.
• At least 1 year of laboratory experience; experience in routine sample analysis preferred.
• Must be able to handle lab waste/chemicals per company procedures.
• Printed circuit board manufacturing knowledge is an asset.
• Knowledge of Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, CVS, UV-Vis, XRF, and titration procedures is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem solving and teamwork skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Testing all chemical incoming, in-process, spent process & wastewater samples for internal/external use.
• Prepare lab reagents for analytical instrumental testing.
• Partner with QA, Engineering & Maintenance to provide chemical results of sample testing.
• Follow appropriate methodologies and SOPs as required.
• Document activities and report results concisely and accurately.
• Label and characterize containers per the Transportation of Dangerous Goods for proper disposal of spent solutions and sludge.
• Calibrate and maintain chemical instruments and tools.
• Inspect, replenish, analyze and maintain the wastewater system.
• Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Code of Ethics and Conduct.
• Report quality problems to management to prevent recurrence; duties may be modified as needed.

PFC Flexible Circuits Limited, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a Lab Technician who will be responsible for following methodologies, performing routine analysis, monitoring process lines & wastewater treatment system, and performing required maintenance on equipment.

This individual will support afternoon shift operations (3:00pm to 11:30pm).

***This position offers a $0.75 per hour shift differential for second shift hours of operation (3:00pm to 11:30pm).***

• Must demonstrate effective skills in troubleshooting, problem solving and team building.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in the business language (English).

Pay may range from $21.00 to $21.00 hourly
