Job summary

Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce is seeking a proactive Laboratory Technician to support quality and testing operations in an agricultural processing environment in Alberta. This role emphasizes accuracy, curiosity, and continuous improvement as you verify results and maintain a well-run lab.

The position offers eligibility for shift premiums and overtime, with a 21–23 CAD/hour pay rate, full-time temporary status, and a Monday–Friday schedule that may require rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (required)
• Basic laboratory or quality-related experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to double-check work
• QA or seed sample processing experience considered an asset
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working around chemicals, dust, and in varying environmental conditions
• Physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in elevated areas

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing to verify product quality and compliance with established standards
• Accurately collect, prepare, and analyze samples for evaluation
• Record and validate test results with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency
• Maintain lab equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and safe working conditions
• Prepare solutions and handle chemicals following safety protocols
• Support quality assurance activities, including seed sample processing
• Communicate findings, irregularities, or concerns to supervisors
• Follow laboratory procedures and contribute to process improvements
• Assist with testing new processes or products when required
