Job summary

LifeLabs is seeking a Part Time Lab Patient Technician in Lindsay, Ontario. You will support the specimen collection process, greet patients, and prepare samples for transportation, contributing to high-quality testing and patient care.

The role emphasizes phlebotomy tasks, ECG tracing, data entry, and maintaining patient confidentiality while delivering friendly, accurate service in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent are preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
• Strong customer/patient service with the ability to relate to patients and clients even in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and collect required information from patients; explain the collection process.
• Perform phlebotomies and ECG tracings.
• Handle special test collections and complete related documentation.
• Maintain client relationships and respond to inquiries.
• Enter patient demographics and requisition information accurately.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
