Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy experience is an asset.
• ECG training or experience is an asset.
• Good computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 wpm.
• Strong customer/patient service and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, collect required information, explain specimen collection steps and ensure protocol adherence.
• Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings.
• Conduct special test collections such as drug screens, paternity tests, and clinical trials with proper documentation.
• Maintain client relationships, respond to inquiries, and follow up on requests.
• Enter patient demographics and requisition data accurately for test processing.
• Prepare specimens for transportation and testing.
