Job summary

Build Nova Scotia is seeking an Observability Engineer in Halifax, NS. The role is onsite with a 4-day work model and full-time employment.

The engineer will manage Kubernetes-based platforms, helm-based deployments, and multi-cluster environments, using Prometheus, Grafana, Thanos, and Loki for observability. Strong scripting and YAML/ Helm literacy are required to optimize infra and deployments.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of platform engineering with pods/containers and multi-cluster management.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes internals, kubectl, image deployment, PVs/PVCs, and storage (S3/NAS).
• Hands-on experience with Helm charts, overlays, and templates.
• Dev non-prod infra support with GitOps to roll out more Kubernetes clusters and optimize performance.
• Ability to read YAML configs and Helm charts and carry out deployments in multi-cluster environments.
• Ability to investigate and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters across environments.
• Monitor and optimize cluster performance and resources.
• Resolve ingress, SSL/TLS, and load balancer related issues.
• Automate provisioning and deployment via GitOps pipelines.
• Read and modify YAML/Helm templates to support deployments across clusters.
