Job summary

Kent Building Supplies is seeking a Kitchen Associate in Halifax to help customers identify needs and assist in selecting products. You will provide product recommendations and ensure a positive shopping experience through expert knowledge and attentive service.

The role requires good communication, a team mindset, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. You will work days, evenings, and weekends on a rotating schedule at our Halifax location, contributing to sales and promotions while learning

Qualifications

Grade 12 diploma or equivalent considered an asset.
Excellent communication and teamwork.
Sales and customer service experience.
Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Ability to work days/evening/weekends (rotating shifts).
Ability to learn and operate the D635 order system.

Responsibilities

Drive sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge.
Clarify and understand customers’ needs and take them to the best solutions.
Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions.
Produce quotes, material lists and follow up.
Demonstrate high standards of safety and customer service.
Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
Continually learn about products and market conditions.
