Ruth & Naomi's Mission in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a Kitchen Lead to oversee daily kitchen operations and mentor team members. You will lead meal preparation, support menu planning, and ensure meals are prepared with care and dignity for those served.

The role demands 3–5 years in a busy kitchen, strong cooking skills, and a positive leadership style. A FoodSafe Level 1 certification is required or willingness to obtain it.

Formación

• 3–5 years of experience in a commercial or high-volume kitchen, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong cooking skills and experience preparing a variety of meals.
• Experience with menu planning, ordering, and inventory management.
• Valid FoodSafe Level 1 certification; or willingness to obtain.
• Culinary Arts certification or Red Seal designation considered an asset.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• A positive leadership style with the ability to train, encourage, and support others.
• A compassionate, respectful approach to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
• Willingness to respect and uphold Ruth & Naomi's Mission's values and mission.

• Monitor food usage, minimize waste, and keep kitchen documentation.
• Work with the Food Services Manager to support smooth operations across kitchens.

Are you an experienced kitchen professional who loves great food, leading a team, and making a meaningful difference in your community?

Ruth & Naomi's Mission is looking for a dependable, organized, and compassionate Kitchen Lead to join our Food Services team!

In this role, you'll help oversee daily kitchen operations, lead meal preparation, support and mentor kitchen staff, and ensure meals are prepared with care and dignity for the individuals we serve. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on leadership role in a busy, purpose-driven kitchen.

What You'll Do

• Manage food ordering, receiving, inventory, and proper storage.
• Assist with kitchen staff scheduling, training, and day-to-day leadership.

• Monitor food usage, minimize waste, and ensure accurate kitchen documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

• $26.27 per hour
