Job summary

The Home Depot Canada in Port Coquitlam, BC is seeking a Sales Associate to deliver fast, friendly service, assess customer needs, and guide them to the right solutions for home improvement projects.

You will build product knowledge, greet customers, and support through merchandise recommendations and service options like Tool Rental and Pro Services, while working a flexible schedule in a busy store environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Years Of Work Experience: 1 to 2 years Retail or Trade experience an asset.
• Demonstrated customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
• Actively seek customers throughout the store and escort to appropriate merchandise.
• Ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects to determine needs and expertise.
• Promote services offered such as Special Services, Tool Rental, Pro Desk, Pro Services, etc.
• Discuss available options (good, better, best) and suggest related items outside of department.
• Educate customers about the whole project and promote related services.
• Maintain knowledge of products in department and adjacent areas.
• Follow safety and loss prevention policies.
