Job summary

Pomeroy Lodging is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. You will support the culinary team, help with basic food prep, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen while delivering friendly, professional service.

This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A Foodsafe certification is preferred. We offer training, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Valid Foodsafe certificate or advanced (Level 2) Food Safety certification is preferred.
• Must be able to work in a high-paced, stressful environment and maintain a professional attitude.
• Must be Health and Safety conscious and dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor during all guest encounters and responds appropriately to guest requests and complaints.
• Understands that effective and cohesive communication between departments is vital to the hotel's operation.
• Assists in basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and preparing ingredients for cooking.
• Washes dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashers. Maintains a clean and organized kitchen area, including counters, sinks, and equipment.
• Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment such as stovetops, ovens, grills, and fryers.
• Replenishes kitchen supplies, such as spices, condiments, and paper products, to ensure a well-stocked kitchen.
• Disposes of kitchen waste and trash properly, following established sanitation procedures.
• Assists in the storage and rotation of food items to maintain freshness and prevent spillage.
• Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen environment.
• Protects self, co-workers, and guests against safety hazards and reports them immediately to the Executive Chef.
