Job summary

Pomeroy Lodging is seeking a 1st Cook to join our culinary team in Calgary. You will support a team of professionals, executing a culinary program aligned with our brand and upholding the highest guest-service standards while contributing to financial performance.

The ideal candidate has 2 years of culinary experience, prior leadership experience, and a Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent. FoodSafe Level 2 certification is preferred, with growth and training opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of culinary experience.
• Previous leadership experience in culinary field.
• Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent required; FoodSafe Level 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes per established recipes with quality, taste and presentation.
• Assist Executive Chef with menu ordering, inventory and daily production planning.
• Oversee kitchen operations during shift for smooth workflow and adherence to standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas, utensils and equipment per SOPs.
• Maintain full menu knowledge, daily features and promotions; manage quality to service standards.
• Assist in planning and executing events such as banquets.
